Set the Local Inventory Coverage for Smart Oil
In Smart eCat configuration, the local inventory coverage must be configured correctly for integrated searches. These are the searches where Smart eCat searches your local inventory and configured suppliers at the same time.
Verify That Your Local Inventory Coverage is Configured Correctly
If you are already using integrated searches in Smart eCat successfully, the local inventory coverage is most likely configured correctly. Before using Smart Oil, however, verify that the local inventory coverage is configured correctly.
To Verify Your Local Inventory
The local inventory coverage must:
-
Be configured to search your local inventory.
-
Appear first and unchecked in the Smart Buy list.
In Smart eCat, click the Configure toolbar button > Smart Buy tab.
If your local inventory is not configured correctly, click the following link:
Configure a Local Inventory Coverage in the Smart Buy
Update the Epicor Specifications in the Local Inventory Coverage
Before using Smart Oil, you should update your local inventory coverage.
To avoid duplicate specifications on the Smart Oil tab, the following Epicor/Activant Information items must be enabled:
- 8415 Drain Plug Size, Torque & Lube Fittings
- 8416 Viscosity & OE Synthetic Oil Specifications
- 4735 Engine Oil & Cooling System Capacity (Quarts)
If you do not want liters to show in this specification, delete 7393 Engine Oil & Cooling System Capacity (Liters) to ensure that only quarts specifications display on the Smart Oil tab.
As always, click OK to save all changes.
